Virgin Media Television
160 Great Portland Street, London W1
Client: Virgin Media

Virgin TV needed a new office environment evoking the company's essential energy, creativity and innovation. MoreySmith's brief for the reception, technical edit rooms, workspace and breakout areas also included the requirement that the scheme should help the company make the transition from tape to digital. Visitors and staff are left in no doubt about the company's intentions as they are greeted with a graffiti-like graphic announcing the 'Creative Village'. Edit suites and sound booths next to reception are individual boxes, their presence - and importance - loudly proclaimed with a bold mixture of multicoloured rubber strips, green lacquer and mirrored external walls.

In keeping with the 'funky but hardworking' look and feel, all the mechanical and electrical services are exposed, as are the metal raised floor tiles. We hung a collection of Encapsulite 'stick-lites' between the ductwork, highlighting the raw slab and industrial fixings.
