When viewing the original site, MoreySmith saw the potential of expanding over the loading bay to the rear of the building, creating a people-centric location for CBRE’s HQ. The new extension slotted into negative space between existing buildings, giving CBRE extra volume in a prime location without the need for extensive demolition of the existing structure.
The workplace was designed in 2017, and due to forward-thinking, required little change in the aftermath of the pandemic. By prioritising well-being, collaboration, and mobility; MoreySmith created a café and restaurant, uniting two light-filled atriums in the heart of the space which offers a social hub at the heart of the building.
The building is on track to achieve BREEAM Excellent, which recognises the building’s environmental performance as being amongst the 10% of UK non-domestic buildings. In addition, it will submit to become WELL Certified Platinum, the highest rating level in the WELL Building Standard.
Located off the iconic Bond Street, the redesign includes a two-story retail style façade with a new curved glass front, in keeping with the strong brand of the global property specialist.
